some may be more rpm-independent though? a stock syclone shifts at 4800 so thats probably what the designers had in mind when they designed/selected the harmonic balancer for the syclone. if your raise the shift points(like i have) to around 5300rpm, i wonder what effect that has on the stock balancer

I mentioned that because I think Ive read that some balancers work well over a broad range of frequencies, suggesting that some may not. I honestly feel that we are safe with *any* 4.3L v6 balancer, and certainly safer than without one at all.

I started to buy some expensive balancer.. the guy that I work with told me not to waste my money. For the RPM that we run.. just put a stock one back on there. I think it cost me 70 bucks.

Just my $0.02
