Re: arp main studs

thanks, sure does. I guess the correct number for head studs with 96 vortec heads would br 233-4301? and anyone think arp rod bolts are worth it?

Re: arp main studs

You have correct number, for 12pt hex..

Usually when you buy a good 5.7 rod included is ARP equipment.

I did go with the stock style rod bolts on my one build.

Re: arp main studs

I was planning on using stock bottom end parts(rods, pistons, main caps) but arp every thing, just didn't know if it was worth it on using stock rods and adding arp bolts, or if the rods are the weak point and arp bolts in stock rods would be a waste?

The stock nodular main caps are ok to a point..Dont waste your $$ on the stock rods and pistons if you expect them to last very long on a high hp build. :2cents:

My advise to you would be to at the very least scrap the stock pistons as they are dog poop, then at that point you'd be better off spending the $500 and getting a set of Eagle rods while its all pulled apart.
400hp to the wheels figuring a 20% drivetrain loss means 500hp+ at the crank. Save yourself a bunch of frustration and in the long run a bunch of money and upgrade those weak parts while the engine is apart.

Hope this helps
