I wanna ditch the digital FP gauge Ive got as I dont trust it anymore as its not behaving correctly. That being said does autometer make a full sweep 2 1/16" sportcomp 0-100 FP gauge thats electrical? Im not into the white face gauge thing and am looking for something to match my 0-30psi boost gauge but going by the catalog from autometer I have the only thing they have is a white faced (ultra-lite) one.

(yes, I know I need an isolator too  )

TIA

I have the ultra-lite gauges and they are actually silver faced.

Electric --> You DON'T need an isolator. Only on mechanical gauges.

They DO make a 2 1/16 full sweep 0-100psi electric FP Gauge. I have one in the Lunar Version. They make many different versions, including one with a black backround if that's what you're looking for.

I still don't trust any electric gauge completely. I also use a Pro-Comp mechanical in the engine compartment.

Wait... I goofed.. I meant I was looking for a mechanical not electrical.. DOH!!!

Question: Is the isolator for the mechanical 0-100psi the same size/configuration as the 0-15? If so I might just do an electrical after all as finding a place to hide that ugly ass isolator they use on the 0-15 is gonna be a PIA. The 3363 is the style Im after.

TIA

(as myclone scratches his head wondering why he couldnt find it in the autometer catalog :-? :-? )

AM Mech FP guage

AM Mech FP guage

AM used to offer the Mech FP guage w the Isolator, but I don't think they recommend it anymore. And having installed 2 of them inside cars, I can see why they R no longer recommended. I will never install another one !

They R a real bastard to install, and it is almost impossible to fill the inside line w antifreeze and get all the air out. Both of mine have started to vibrate badly and I don't trust the reading.

AM did alot of research on senders for electronic FP guages, and the high price shows that. Hopefully this is an accurate sender. It's about the only choice at this point, and the direction that I'm going.

here's the deal, and why to use the electrical.
atm sold lotsa isolators. apparently they also warrantied lots cause folks didnt bother to fill them properly, which is a real bitch.
then recently they were reintroduced, with a "new" design.
its still a bad idea.
even if u get it filled right, it'll leak anyway and need rebleeding all the time.
i have sold scores since introduction with no failures.
fwiw, u wont find a mechanical gauge in any open wheel race car....
