aux. i.c.

I am looking to add an auxilary intercooler. I have already done the heater hose lines, and have a hotwired ic pump. I think it should be pretty easy to add. I was just wondering what everybody is using and where I could get one. The sportmachine link says to use a Hayden cooler from Pep Boys. Does anyone have the part # or any alternatives?

Thanks,

Ken

My ass. Look at it.
Definitely invest in an Aux. CCHE ::eek:k:: . I believe mine is an ATR unit, not sure, as it had it when Bought it. Make sure that air will not get trapped in the heat exchanger like mine (the dork who installed it had the inlet and outlet on da bottom, air cannot escape). However, it may be easier to install it like this as the IC lines will be at the bottom and mo easier to run. I would try to drill a hole in the top, tap some threads, and install a petcock valve to allow air to vent.

Did you install a better IC pump, Like a shureflow? Definitly as if not more important than the aux CCHE.

Any suggestion on getting the air out of these? I install mine last year just before I put iaway for winter with the inlet/outlet down and haven't been able to get the air out yet.

Try installing a petcock valve on the top of the CCHE to allow air to vent, I had the same problem but I managed to burp the system by using a lenght of heater hose and sucking out the air, god dexcool tastes BAAAAD! I think I will go ahead and install a petcock. I have also heard that a dual pump setup can work to get the air out.

i sucked the air out of the hose and created like a siphon and got all the air out of the hoses that way. then fill upper cooler and i used a funnel that attaches to where the cooler cap goes and let it run for a while that way with the funel filled like half way. eventually all the bubbles will come out. a good way to check is if the hoses are hard with water pressure when the system is closed. also helps if you elevate the front part of the cooler when filling/bleeding...
