Re: bad idle

might have found the problem. then when i start the ty fuel press is good but the more i drive it the lower it goes. so idk if it the fuel pump os the fuel press reg. both are about 3 year old and aftermarket. anyone have any ideas? i found out the hard way. i was in the middle of my 3an half hour drive back from truck carlise when i noticed the fuel press started droping then it wouldnt stay running. after sitting for 30 min it started back up. then rite away it started to lose press again.

This sounds familiar to me....What kind of FP did you put in...this happened to me with a Walbro 255...drive for a half hour and it would shut off and Id have to let the truck sit for a while before it would start again. Recently replaced it with a stock replacement and got stranded no more.....maybe this is your prob too....as I recall, it started to do this slowly and gradually got worse and worse.

that is the pump i have. it took a few years to go bad, but i might look into another brand of high flow pump this time. but yes thats what mine did as well.

Where did you buy your Walbro and what did you pay? If you bought it off ebay for less than $100 it's probably a Chinese knockoff and not a real Walbro. My Ty already had a Walbro in it when I bought it ten months ago and I've driven it 3000 miles with no problems.
