Blew up motor last night!

I am not a happy camper...damit! Gosh, this thing is a frucking money pit - big time. I just got this thing running and have only put 750 miles on it since buying it. Yes, my foot was in it...but barely (thats the first thing everyone asks...yeah, yeah I know but thats what I brought it for). Hmmm....guessing I find out it it was the original motor once I get into dismantling this baby.

Well, I am thinking the crank split in two or I lost a rod...but it will still start albeit makes a disgusting grinding noise. I was too tired and pissed off to put it on jack stands last night.

Well, looks like I will be researching the archives and looking at all my options considering the money is tight at the moment.

If you had any advice on a cost-conscience rebuild, please let me know.

Thanks

I feel your pain buddy. Be thankful you have the skills & know how to do the job yourself. I wish I had that, instead I can be spotted on highways all over MA, picking cans to pay for the Sy's latest hiccup... is it all worth it? Yeah I guess it is, because of the smile the damn thing puts on my face everytime I drive it.

good luck with your rebuild!

Haha! 750 miles? I got you beat with under 400 miles!

Naw I feel your pain though my problem was definately more to blame on me than yours was...I stayed into it well past 125 for over 3 minutes straight here on the autobahn...that wasn't too bright.
