Long story - kinda. Finally, got my truck back on the road. YESSS! I have only owned it six months and only got it drive it about seven times, maybe. Thinking its time to have fun. NOT.

Okay, I drive it around last weekend after it sat in my garage for six months. And. I check the coolant level after its initial break in period, maybe 100 miles ....just because I replaced the heater core, rebuilt the turbo, had the radiator flushed, new water pump. etc...that's why it sat in my garage for months. The coolant is a brownish color - looking bad. It should be fresh...it is fresh. However, the oil is fine, no contamination, it smells a little burnt, though.

Compression test shows all cylinders at 150 psi, except number four which is 120. This is marginal, at best. Its 20% off.... So, spray a little WD-40 in the cyclinder and the reading is still 120 psi.

I go ahead and order a Leak Down Tester and a "Test Exhuast Gases in your Cooling System" from Eastwood. This was over 7 days ago. They are slow.... and I am waiting IMPATIENTLY. Hence, I have to ask you guys!!!

Here is my question. Do you guys think my number 4 cyclinder is leaking into my cooliing system?

FYI..the truck has 63K. I am the second owner. And, yes by reading and searching this forum I know Sy/Ty's aren't suppose to have flaky headgaskets.

Thanks
Kent

crank the truck with the rad cap off, let it warm to normal temp. when you see the theromstat open and coolant begin to flow look for bubbles in the water. if you see bubbles that weont go away with adding water then you have a blown HG.

jwaller,

...forgot to mention I already did that. I will repeat this again tonight for sheeits and giggles.

Starting to think, maybe, the radiator shop did not flush out my radiator after it was dipped in their cleaning tank. And, like a fool I did not flush it out prior to installing it like I did the

Thanks,
