boost question

well my truck is making too much boost i think. if i romp on it, it goes up past the stock gauge then start cutting out. what all need to be done so i can run around 18 or so pounds of boost?

Sounds like you upgraded your exhaust and are still running the internal wastegate? Might be boost creep.

3 bar MAP too....along with a chip, adj. FP regulater, high pressure fuel pump, and maybe alky if you feel like it.

My first mods were ATR exhaust and K&N cone filter. After that, I was getting overboost and cut out. The stock chip can only read to 14.7psi and the computer is designed to cut out. You need to adjust your wastegate rod if you plan on keeping the truck with the mods you have. In my case, I went with the Ultimate chip, 3 bar map sensor and a manual boost controller. The 1st two items will solve your problem and the third mod helps keep solid boost levels. The search tool will help with your upgrade plans or walking you through any of the changes I mentioned.

yeah i have a datamaster on the way. its hard to hook up with other sy's here in omaha, theres only one other one around

2 scanmaster to see if your leaning out
3 fp reg set somewhere between 43- 48 lbs so no lean out or knock
4 manual boost controller

that will get you 17 easy

18- 25
velocity syty chip
better inter cooler
bigger turbo that will actually use 18 +effectively instead of heating up out of range
auxiliary fuel like 7th injector and or alky
