My typhoon has been turning off when I have idled lately. It has happened four times and twice today. The other thing that scares me is that the car turned off when I was driving a week ago. I was cruising at fourty and it just turned. Can anyone give me some ideas of what may be wrong with it?

Mine just started doing it today. I was looking aroumd for answers when i saw your post. My truck was running like shit, adn giving me code 44, which is lean exhaust. I checked, adn figured i had a bad computer. When i went to put the prom in new computer, i noticed it had a hypertech chip, so i did away with that to put her to stock. Now i cant keep it running, adn i have really long crank times, and have to hold pedal to the floor to get it running. I dont have a way of getting data out of it. My snapo on scanner wont communiocate. Good luck, ill post when i figure it out

tycrazy, that is by far not normal. there are a shit load of people that live near you that can help. nwstp, look into them. they have datamaster available and technical knowledge to help you fix your problem. lets keep the poor tuned shitty running syty's to a minimum.

Long crank times are either fuel filter or fuel pump - either one will also cause the truck to die. There are other things as well - those are just the first that came to mind.

OK, so here is the scoop. I dont have a datamaster, but will get one. I put back the original ecm minus the hypertech chip, and all systems are go. Check into that ecm typhoonboy. GM didnt make great ones in those years, and i got a crappy aftermarket rebuild. Good luck, and thanks for everyones suggestions. Hypertech sucks
