Carpet Replacement

Has anyone replaced there Typhoon carpet recently? If so which product did you use and which color did you select? I was just looking at the carpet from ACC Matts. They show two color options black and graphite. I actually just e-mailed them to see if I could get a sample of these carpet colors.

This will be my next job after putting in some sound deadening material.

Re: Carpet Replacement

Hey Randy,

On the auto-interiors site they only list black carpet and graphite carpet. Should I assume the graphite is the same as the dark charcoal carpet?

Thanks,
Nick

Listed under "special order" is the charcoal. I don't see the "dark charcoal" that I referred to. I do know that the "black" is not a good match, as that is what I installed in the SY. I don't want to point you in the wrong direction, so best to verify the color match with others. http://www.auto-interior.com/_colors/897_Charcoal.htm

Re: Carpet Replacement

I wish these vendors would make the door panel carpet.

That would be a good idea Dave. I wonder if someone sent them there bottom door carpet to match the carpet that they have maybe they could do it?

I'm going to email them tomorrow and ask for some samples and I will ask about the bottom door carpet piece as well.

Re: Carpet Replacement

I have replaced carpets in multiple different cars and have used multiple different manufacturers. In my opinion they all suck. From the most expensive to the cheapest, it never fits looks right or matches. Maybe I've had bad luck? On my Ty I pulled the factory carpet and had it cleaned. If it is not all ripped up you'd be surprised what a professional can clean out of carpet.

Re: Carpet Replacement

I wish I had that option. Mine was in pretty crappy shape then the heater core leaked and it made it worse. I pulled my carpet out a while ago and haven't had the interior in for the last 6-8 years. It's time to get it installed and everything back to factory inside.

Re: Carpet Replacement

I have used this before on a typhoon and a syclone. Dark Charcoal would be the best color match, I think. Others have used this carpet also.

So I've tried to get a hold of this company for the last month or two and have had no luck at all. I've called, left voicemail's and e-mailed as well. Time to move onto someone else who will answer the phone.

I will report back when I make some more progress.

Re: Carpet Replacement

Digging into this a little more. This company also sells carpets for our trucks and they are half the price of ACC Mats.

I was just looking at LMC's website and there prices seem to be very similar to ACC Mats. I wonder if they all come from the same place? ACC Mats has more options and a better website.

Nick

I just ordered samples from this place. Hopefully one of the two colors that I picked matches our stock interior.

Re: Carpet Replacement

I am interested as well.
mine isn't horrible but shows wear and cleaning it isn't going to fix that.
I was considering swapping all my interior fabrics/carpets/headliner to all Black.
Ideally Id want a suede headliner and wrap those door cards in suede to match because that fringy carpet on the doors is so 80s looking. lol

Let me know which direction you go.
Glad to see old Team Green back at it again!

Re: Carpet Replacement

HAHA, Hey Jas. Once I hear back from this company I'm going to ask if they will reproduce the lower door portion or the carpet and the lower carpet next to the rear seats as well. I will keep everyone posted. I'm looking for the closest fit to stock at this point but they do have a black carpet option available.

Re: Carpet Replacement

Hi Nick
I bought carpet from lmc for my sonoma gt years ago and it is in fact acc brand. At least it was when I bought it because it came in an acc box.
I believe I went with black in the sogt and it looked great! I would highly recommend acc as the carpet was heavy and well made. I'm not sure how the charcoal looks or what you prefer for color but I wanted to let you know acc carpet is worth the price :D

Good luck!

Re: Carpet Replacement

Here are the two samples I got from stockinteriors.com. I'm deciding if I want to go with the charcoal color, the darker sample of if I should look at the colors again and request some more samples to be sent out

What do you guys think?

Re: Carpet Replacement

Well I ended up going with the Charcoal from stockinteriors.com. Charcoal was there carpet code 897. Stockinteriors.com also buys the carpets that they sell from ACC Matts. It looks like ACC Matts also supplies LMC truck. I confirmed with stockinteriors.com that the same carpet that was listed on ACC Matts website that is $450 you can buy at stockinteriors.com for $230. As soon as the carpet arrives I'll let everyone know how it fits.

Re: Carpet Replacement

So the new carpet looks very close in color to the stock carpet. I won't be installing the carpet myself but it looks like a nice set
