Quick info to explain the pics, in 1993, sy2957 was wrecked pretty hard ...then a in 1996 the guy who wrecked it put a 1993 body on the truck... now,a tad too rusty for me..well I bought the truck 2 years ago in Ohio and hauled it back here to Wisconsin along with a ton of parts, put it togather and parked it ,except the occasional messing around. I was pretty unhappy cause it looked like crap.. 93 moldings,rust and so on, tho I have most of the cladding, I decided to use a 96 sonoma as a project truck, I am 1 month into the project and all seems to be well.. tho the pics are not updated to the most recent , ill keep adding them . them truck has 25,500 miles on it and runs really good...

Guess Im not for sure yet..... Ill do something weather it be xtreme or aftermarket..i dont know yet
tho I am painting it the xtreme yellow/orange

From the looks of the photos you are swapping the body from the newer S-10 onto the frame of the older S-10?

I take it, you are having to modifiy the mounting points and hardware to make it all fit?

The way I see it is he wants to keep it AWD and in the one pic I see the propshaft installed so that would make me believe the older one is 4x4 and the newer one is 2wd (by lookin at the wheels). When I first looked at it I thought, why wouldn't he just swap the motors but then saw the pic with the propshaft and figured it out.

I am keeping the sy frame and keeping it awd... eveything will be stock syclone except the sheet metal and the dash, not to mention I bought the rims from a guy with a ty... I still have the stock rims but wow are those some heavy aluminum pigs... the new ones are half the weight, not sure which ones ill run when Its done. the body was a complete bolt on..all the holes lined up perfectly. heck even 3 of the floor seat bolts line up..
by far the easiest swap Ive ever done..

Oh, i didn't realize you were still using the Sy frame. Thought it was damaged in the wreck and you just pulled the motor and trans. I heard that the new style trucks used the same frame as the first gens. so that would make things pretty easy like you said. Just out of curiosity, how are you goin to VIN it? As the 96 I would guess? Do you have strict emissions laws there? I know here that they would run the VIN and see it as a 2wd and put it on the roller and drive it right into the fan while testing it!

emissions? whats that?.......actually where I live its not a big deal... i doubt any non new vehical here meets emissions. lots dont have cats.. i got pulled over in my dodge ram last week ... the cop told me i have 3 things for you... where did you get your exhaust?? how much did you pay for it.. and the wiper cowl where did you get that from...got to love tax dollars at work

i saw a classic car at the Mild/Wild show with a complete syclone driveline. the turbo V6, AWD, the instrument cluster, wheels, and seats.

for the life of me i cant remember what it was (saw way too many cars that day)

i took pictures of the whole thing, but those were on my screwed up media card.
