please can somone help whith a code 43 .
I know this is a knock sensor code, I s the wire a blue wire ,
will a set code give me an unstable idle? The problem is not the ecu i have a spare as well as 3 eproms . The last time I had the same problem on a different ty and after getting 3 new knock sensors the prob persisted (gm Knock sensors not specifically ty) I cut the sensor open to find the resistor had come unsoldered , i fixed it and end of problems , To cut the long story short what else could it be ? I dont want to stick my hands down there again.

OK, in my past experience with this code the last 6 times were... 3 times bad sensor, 2 times bad/corroded/busted connector and once I got a wrong sensor. The new connectors are available from GM with about 2 ft of new wire and hell yes, you will have to put your hand back there to fix it. The wire color is Dark blue and it should have 5 volts on it unplugged and about 2.5v plugged in to the sensor. If you have a scantool/datamaster you can check it by placing a long extention/pipe close to the sensor and hitting the pipe with a hammer... you should see your knock counts increasing, with the key on, engine off...
