Compression test ?

I am trying to my truck ready to head over to Steve Morris engines to have
Alex tune it. I replaced the turbo as some know and the throttle body with a 52mm .
That said I am going to do a compression test today just for piece of mind and was wondering
If I can do it with out the exhaust completed? I have the headers on cut nothing else. I wouldn't think it should matter but better to be safe than sorry. I don't want to tow the truck 14 hours and find out that I have an issue.

Jeff, I will say this. You would be wise to make sure the truck is fully completed before bringing it for a tune, so exhaust should be done the way it will be when you would be driving it.
Alex will let you know how he needs it to be. Make sure you talk to him in depth before heading out that way.
Make sure you have a few sets of new spark plugs (whatever one's Alex recommends) also and some spare plug wires I run Tr7ix with this stock block build..
Bring whatever fuel you will be running so there are no discrepancies in the fuels.

Thanks guys! I know about having it completed before heading to see Alex. I just wanted the extra room in the engine bay for the plug changes and compression test. I have already talked with Alex and the appointment is for next Monday. I am not looking for big numbers.
I am just looking to get it running correctly and make so i can enjoy driving it. If I can get back to where it was when i bought it I would be happy!!! I am bringing two extra sets of plugs,1 extra O2 sensor, map sensor, methanol jet,oil. The truck was really fun when I got it. After reading posts by a bunch of respected SYTYers I think an 11.30 truck will keep an old dude like me happy."for a while"lol. The new turbo should support a high 10's truck so there is room for growth. looks like I will be running 15lbs or so of boost to reach my goal. which is down from 24psi with the other turbo.thanks again.

Test went well. Everything seems good as far as compression. I only did a dry
Test. Popped in new plugs gapped at .026. All that is left is to cut down the actuator
Rod on the Forge Motorsport waste gate actuator. Reconnect all the IC piping,torque the
Throttle body bolts,test the methanol to make sure it is pumping, tighten down the exhaust
To the DP, install the new battery and holly crapp I still have some work to do!!
I hope no issues pop up while Alex is dialing it in. I would be pretty embarrassed.

Looking forward to seeing your truck here Jeff.

This is always good to see happen before going off for tuning. It helps speed things up greatly when we don't have to troubleshoot things for hours at a time.

I was looking forward to the results, how far of a haul is it for? Could the Ty not make it because of its current tune/condition?

Oh it would make it! I don't drive it in snow. The trip is 14 hours.
I am so disappointed !!

I think he wanted to reschedule for end of March or early April. I told him that I was really flexible. Just give us a call when you think you will have a date for it and we will put you on the calendar.

Did he mention why he cancelled Alex? I have been working like a fool
To meet the trip date. Oh well it was good practice. Lol
