Damaged aux intercooler pump?

What will happen if I drive my sy with a non working intercooler pump? Should I drive it? Who has a good cond used pump or should I just purchase a new one? Is it necessary for it to be circulating? Thanks

not a good idea. without the pump, you get no flo through the IC, thus making things very very hot. hot motor/turbo etc. = bad news.

if you have to, you can drive it, but for sure, don't get into boost at all.

i'm sure someone else will tell you all the particulars of what will really happen. i just know not to do it if you can help it.

To not circulate coolant through the intercooler can cause detonation, which can in turn put a connecting rod through your oil pan :-? . Get it fixed A.S.A.P. and stay out of boost as mentioned by phoonTy. Before you write the pump off, make sure that the fuse for it behind the alternator in the weatherpack connector is good.
