Developments....

NHSTE - I'm the only one!
Last time I drove my truck it developed about 12 degrees of negative camber by the time I parked it in the garage again :( ... so, had my Dad pull the wheels off (I am at school, go figure), and found:
1. Driver's side rear alignment bolt had worked itself completely loose and rotated around (hence the messed up camber)
2. Both sides had loose bolts in my CBR brake caliper adapters... apparently I need to re-loctite them.

Anyone have an idea as to how I can keep the alignment bolts from working out like that? I hesitate to loctite them, but not sure what else to do. The truck had an alignment done and then rechecked about 60 miles later because one of my tires was scrubbing (turned out to be the cladding)... it's been about 2000 miles since then, and I have not beat on it particularly.

Anyway, the truck goes in for it's 3rd inspection this week. That's now 1.5 years on the road

Re: Developments....

The alignment bolt is not because it is getting loose but just spinning bolt, washer, etc inside the bracket.

If you really don't want it to move, a small tack weld will do it, I have not got to that before but you do have to make sure the top bolts are tight.

Brake bracket bolts coming loose happens often also. Red Locktite.

The alignment bolt was actually loose... the nut was finger tight on that side. I will be getting some red loctite shortly

Re: Developments....

more bad news....Looking like my year old AGR 12:1 billet steering box is toast  ... $330 anchor now. It's at the shop (as I'm not home) and thought it might possibly be ball joints, but it failed inspection because the wheels stick and won't go right.

Anyway, looks like I'm getting a ZQ8 box from Napa... $200 and $80 something for core. Should be done by the end of the week. :(

Anything will be an improvement over that AGR pos. I've been fighting with it ever since I bought it and could not seem to ever get it to adjust properly, and now this. I had more play in that box than my stocker, talked to AGR and they said readjust, by the time I'd finished messing around with it, guess what warranty was expired.

Sarcasm off, thanks for the tip

I would buy a used low mileage ZQ8. A Napa unit is most likely going to a build of a high mileage unit, I personally don't trust the average rebuilt quality.

The only problem is needing one now, because they won't let the truck leave as it is so I need to do something with it or I'm paying for storage I don't need.... more than likely this box will end up in the GT and I'm going to try and sort out the AGR box when I get some time.

Send the AGR box back to them. Make sure they know that it's on a 4x4 Typhoon, not a 2 WD S Truck. They need to reset it back to normal specs.

The box is screwed up beyond the point of being repaired, I am pretty sure. I have had horrible luck with AGR and am not dealing with them anymore.

In the meantime, the truck has the ZQ8 box in (feels nice) and is back on the road once again
