Ok Ive just put down my built trans a Th700r4 in my car and I allso geared the rear for 3.73:1 and forgot all about the speedo gears..

The trans have the red (17 teeth) drive gear and my combo aint good for speedogears and 3.73:1 and 26" tires... (theres no speedogear with 49 teeth)

I would like to change the driven gear to gray (15 teeth) then Im in a whole different chair..

Is it possible tho change the driven gear without takin the trans apart??

I guess and HOPE its gona be changed easilly from dismantle the rear house (4 bolts) and some "clipp" and slide off the red driven gear..?

Anny one done this??

and if theres a sketch/blueprint site on the Th700r4 trans ?

I refuse to take out the trans and go to the builder to have the trans overhauled just for this, the engine/trans comb have NOT ben started yet I have the proppshaft for shortening and balancing now.. so its time to fix this..

Despite its the same trany (Th700r4) in my car so doesnt matter´, its "changing the driven gear on the axle" that counts..

You have to pull the tail housing off to relace the 17 tooth drive gear. Going off the top of my head with my Corvette and what I used for 3.73 gears, I think you will need 15 Gray and 45 tooth driven gear for 26" tires.

Yes I want to change to the gray drivengear, etc. than its just off with the tailhouse and whatever holds the gear and slid out the gear of from the axle and replace then..
OK thanks..

FYI Their are aftermarket drive gears of 13 teeth available (atleast their were), so you can do higher ratio than 3.73 with 26" tall tires. I know they make electrical adapters, but from what I have read they mess with the ABS and traction control if you have them.
