E85 and PLX wide band

At WOT AFR is going to be around 9. The PLX gauge does not go that low. Are there any options that some recommends? I would still like something that will work with code59

Why do you want to run that rich? No reason to run 9:1 AFR on PLX gauge. You will get fuel behind the rings and blow something up.

Something I think you might be confused about is the PLX or any WB doesn't know what fuel is in the system. You can basically ignore what fuel you have and read the guage just as it was gas. Shoot for 11:8ish at WOT even with e85.

remember, according to performance theory and engine dynamics, typically optimal/best torque will come out around ~12.5:1 AFR for a "heat pump" which is the ideal case for any engine.

Anything more rich than that and you're on a downward slope for torque, any more lean and you risk detonation. So 9:1 would be helatiously rich and worthless I would think

You guys are right thanks. Im thinking 30% more fuel meant richer AFR with E85. It does not. I just had to get it strait in my head.

All PLX wideband air/fuel ratio devices are compatible with E85 fuel. E85 consists of a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% petroleum and it is becoming a popular alternative fuel worldwide. Perfect combustion is defined as 1.0 lambda or 9.855 air/fuel ratio for E85. Here are some equations to help you calculate your air/fuel ratio.

Air/Fuel Ratio (E85) = 9.855 x lambda

Air/Fuel Ratio (E85) = 0.67 x Air/Fuel Ratio (Gasoline)

I agree.

It is critical to adjust Lambda for your given fuel type. Most people also don't realize that Lambda should even be corrected for E10 (You know, the stuff you get at just about every gas pump). The addition of 10% alcohol shifts the stoichiometric ratio from 14.7:1 to 14.1:1. While this isn't a big shift, I think that if you have the tools to hit a target AFR then you should aim for the right place.

It also makes me wonder if E10 can in some ways be attributed to the death of some early EFI vehicles that came with E0 tunes from the factory, particularly SyTys. The slight shift in Lambda plus fuel delivery issues could get you into detonation very quickly.
