Engine Build-up Formulas

I was part of the Rockford Racecraft mess. I got clipped for $10,000+ and had to buy my own engine back from a machine shop in Rockford. So my Syclone arrived back here with all the parts in the bed. The short block from the machine shop included Eagle rods, good forged pistons and rings.

So I'm looking for a build-up for my street truck. The truck has a beefed up transmission with a 2800 stall converter. Oh and I'm partial to Garrett turbos :) Can anyone help me with this? Or a shop capable of handling this?

Re: Engine Build-up Formulas

so youre looking for an Illinois based shop? or looking for suggestion on parts to use for your build up?

what parts are you actually missing? Im sure plenty of people will be able to suggest parts, but only few will be able to help with a shop. Why not tackle the rest of it yourself?

Sorry to hear about the Rockford mess, its really a damn shame that some people can sleep at night after that whole thing.

Yes I'm really looking for build suggestions. Like what turbo and downpipe will fit the truck. Where do you send the heads to have them tricked out? What cam (Crane?). What alcohol injection system? What computer or chips set? What injectors? Etc.

How fast do you want to go(E.T.)? What is your budget?

The only place that makes a downpipe for our trucks now is SyTy performance. On the cam. You would be better off having a custom cam made for your truck. Several companies make custom cam. But we need more info before we can suggest what parts are needed.

Re: Engine Build-up Formulas

This is a street truck. Air conditioning, I have a Grand National and I would like it to run like that. Just turn the key and start it every morning. I don't want something that's not fun or streetable. I need a dependable truck that I can drive to either Coast with and not have it overheat, vapor lock or not able to turn over the starter with it's hot and has some bottom end.

Also consider Moretto Motorsport, formerly Campbell Automotive. They tune the shit out of your truck and you'll get what you put in.

Wish I lived in the continental US.

Good luck!
