Er... Highbeam/Tailight?

On the way back from our North Carolina trip last weekend, the driver's side headlight stopped functioning. No biggie. Bought a pair of Wagner Xenon headlights from Trak Auto and installed them. Great.

However, only the driver's side highbeam works. WTF.

Along the way I noticed that the lower portion of my driver's side tailight is not lit up. Hmmm... Did GM do any sort of thing where if the driver's tailight doesn't work, the passenger highbeam won't work?

I also picked up a pair of replacement bulbs for my foglamps. I was suprised they were listed. Anyway, I found out they won't do me any good since my foglamps were rusted out completely. Oh well. Anyone got a part or model number for the "Blazer" brand foglamps that are a near direct replacement?

Remember the saying, "new only means nobody used it before you". 2 possibilities come to mind with the high beams. 1st is a defective lamp. Swap it to the other side and see of it works. If not, its n/g. If it does, its a wiring problem on the rt side and very possibly a poor connection with the plug. There should be no connection no pun intended) between the headlamp/taillamp problem. Just coinsidence. Sorry, can't help you with the fog lamps.

Update!

For whatever reason, my passenger side high beam works now. This is curious to me, since lately my truck has been fixing everything I've been too lazy to fix... all by itself.

I didn't touch the headlight over the weekend, too busy. So much to my suprise, it's working fine now. Great.

A few weeks ago, my ABS light went out. It had been on since I bought the trucklet, but it's out now. How odd. The light didn't burn out. It went from being on all the time to flashing a pattern at me. Then it stopped, and hasn't been on since. My brakes are fine, and the ABS is functional. Dunno what that was all about.

Also, my vibration that was at 65 - 75 is gone for the most part.

Similarly, the truck would always stumble at start and I'd have to give it gas and then it would do the cold start thing. Now it just fires up and runs, no muss, no fuss, no stumbling. Almost acts like it's in tune. How odd.

If I wait long enough, do you guys think the foglamps I bought to replace the stockers will install themselves? :smile:
