Had a question for my exhaust, will it be good to remove the cat on the exhaust and muffler or will it be bad or will it run better just wondering

Code what?
If you have a stock chip probably not a good idea, it will not allow the wastegate to function as before with less back pressure. It will cause over boost and spikes, basically creating a condition that could detonate your motor. Install a forge wastegate and adjust the spring for 15psi and you could pull it off without a cat. The stock wastegate/boost solenoid is good for a exactly stock setup and that's about it.

Try a search, you could probably find much more discussion with a few keywords

What ever it takes!!
Re: Exhaust question

you should be okay with removing the muffler(s) but not the cat...need some back pressure to help the wastgate do its job.

So I should be fine if I remove my cat????

He has a forge wastegate as mentioned above twice. He also is stating that he is NOT using his AEM truboost. Your questions are not going to get you yes or no answers here. If you can't use the information given along with the search feature to make a decision then you have some learning to do if your going to look for answers that way here.

When you run it w/no electronic wastegate control it will be slower & you get wastegate creep sooner. :2cents:

I haven't really dilly dally with it yet but when I removed my cat it over boosted....I replaced the solenoid in the system and it helped but I haven't really done too much with it....so I turned off the aem truboost. ..The answer is yes with me that it over boosts but I will eventually turn it back on and play with the wastgate duty cycle to see if I can stop it from over boosting. ...I'll keep you posted...All trucks act differently also I have noticed...to be honest it's a crap shoot if you will or not...but I think you will...:headbange
