This is only a feeler, I absolutely love this car, but after the few months I've owned it the lady doesn't like driving the manual trans and she is insisting on getting a auto.. I bought this car so she has something to drive on her own to shows but things changed.. I'm not looking to sell the car, but mainly trade for a syty or gn.. I know it's a long shot but I can throw money down if needed.. I just can't express enough how clean this car is, there is zero rust on it. This is the only place I'm listing it, if it doesn't go then I'll keep it.. Won't bother me at all but will the gf haha

As for the car, it's a 83 camaro z28 with the newer 90s style bodykit added.. 5.0 v8 5 speed, I gave it a fresh tune up when I picked it up. Worked the bugs out, added Some headers and exhaust.. The car needs nothing.. I drive this car only on weekends when it's nice out and I love driving it.. Has plenty of power, handles great, and gets a lot of attention "'more then my typhoon actually".. Car has 98,xxx miles documented.. Trans was replaced threw dealership before it was put away, I should be able to get the receipt from the dealer for it. I can get any pictures needed, I can even get underside pics here at work. But like mentioned I'm mainly looking for a syty or a gn, if it needs work that's ok.. I just would really prefer it to be atleast running and driving. Heres the thread on it when I first got it from the barn and home.. Also comes with a bunch of extra parts including a front bumper and bunch misc other things

Is it the original engine in it? If so, is it a code h (140 horse 305) or code g (190 horse ho).

83's don't normally bring a lot of money, but you may add some value having the 91/92 kit on it.

I was a huge third gen guy (hence blue83z)

The engine is supposed to be original.. A old lady first owned it, then my boss bought it way back in day and owned it and i know for a fact he didnt swap the motor, then I got it.. I haven't looked into which motor is it honestly.. The car moves for being a 5.0 though

Out of curiousity, How much are 83 Z28's worth these days? I haven't priced some like that out since the 90's.

My 83 was pretty much mint. No winters, about 5k miles (10 years lol) on paint, 5 speed, newer engine, but had number matching one, build sheet, iroc wheels, etc.
Sold in fall of 09 when I bought the corvette for $4100 I believe.

im a giant 3rd gen guy, ive owned 10 of them- 5K is usualy the top of the market on them- 91-92 Z28 350tpi cars fetch that.... usualy clean carbed V8 Zs go for the 3 grand range atleast in my area.

they are in that bastard zone right now- not quite collector- not quite modern enough to be insanely desirable, but theres a big cult following for them and they are a fun car to drive- especially LS swapped third gens

I don't know how T-Tops are perceived these days, but as a 18 year old they were a must have and easily added 750-1000 to the value of a used car. The early f-body styling also took a big price hit compare to the 85+ updates as well. A non t-top early 3rd gen f-body was a 2500 car in the early 90's. I remember a friend of mine bought a mint garage queen 84 z28 5sp HO ttop car for 3500. Another one of my friend bought 83 TA ttop auto crossfire for 3200.

I love third gen Z's. My dad has an 80 Z that he bought new when he was in the Army and still has it but I am more fond of third gens. I want one someday but I have my heart set on T-tops. That is clean though.

when I was a kid everyone needed t tops..... at this point the cars are older and they all leak and rot- most of my customers look for hardtop cars unless they are buying it as a weekend toy that lives in the garage so they don't have to worry about leaks turning into rot

I do live in Arkansas and taking a saws-all to a perfectly good hard top wouldn't be the strangest thing I have seen done to a car in that state. On a serious note it looks immaculate.

Haha if I threw it on cl here, it would probly sell in a day, then next day be Rollin on 26" irocs

the only thing thats from the 91/92 body style is the rear wing. body kit itself is pre 91

cleaned her up and took her out tonight for a few hours.. drove wonderfully.. ended up going to a old fishing spot from a good 10 years ago, owner let me go out there and snap some pictures..

That says it was originally a crossfire LU5 305. It had twin tbi's on it from the factory. 175hp/250tq according to Google. Kinda neat, to bad they are no longer there. It was a good system in theory, but everything I have read said it just didn't work very well. Hence its short existence.

Interesting stuff, I just did a quick google search on a decoder site, didn't look into it to much more lol :tup:
