Finally getting new plates!

Sept 1 i no longer have to pass emissions so I'll actually have plates for the first time in 4 years.

My old personalized plate expired, but I'm not sure I want it back.

I am drawing a major blank on anything that sounds remotely kewl.

Heres what I have so far.

Any of these look good enough to run?

Mr Ty 2U is my old plate that I may just get back.

We only get 6 digits with a single space dash or apostrophe.

Naw, Marty thinks its his truck then...
That's why I moved the space on the new plate ;)

I don't see why we can't have the 2nd fn space. It will fit on there fine.

Why no more emissions? Just because of the age of the vehicle?

Re: Finally getting new plates!

As of Sept 1 2007 the state of MO has ended their contract to the Gateway Clean Air Program.
extensive studies have shown the ground level O Zone in our city has not been effected by the state mandated vehicle emissions program. The state contracted out a company out of CT to run these state facilities that run your car/SyTy on a 2 or 4 wheel roller dyno with no tie downs and at highway speeds to test the tailpipe emissions. there was a 1 800 # over the bay as you pull in to report damages to your vehicle. the site and the employees are nto responsible for your property. You are also not allowed to photograph or video tape any part of their facility, not even the 1 800 # sign.
I was threatened to have the police called if I did not put my camera away immediately.
I told them if they had no intention of damaging my vehicle why would they care>?

They are putting the emissions testing back in the hands of the private mechanic and OBD1 and older vehicles are now exempt since there are a minority of those vehicles left on the road.
Emissions now consists of hooking the OBD2 vehicle up to a scanner, it there are no codes it passes. Even the Gateway Clean Air Program has been passing newer vehicles like this on a program called "Fast Pass" for the last 2 years, but that doesn't help the OBD1 guys.

Now if we could get them to go after the Monsanto and Sigma chemical manufacturing plants less than 5 miles from downtown but on the other side of the river, we'd be looking at reducing harmful emissions. Of course those have nothing to do with the pollution of downtown, no way never. They have too many bill boards to possibly be doing more damage than good.

And you wonder why my Ty hasn't had plates in 4 years. Not because it didn't run (that only happened recently), because I wouldn't allow them to test it in that fashion.

Re: Finally getting new plates!

The Gateway clean Air program tested all vehicles that did not have historical plates, which your vehicle must be 25 years old to be eligible.
Unless you had 18000 # plates.

get that and i'll pay for it.
OK!
Its going to be about $145 though.
2 year tags are $87
Personalization is $15
My fine for lapsed licensing will be at least $25-$50.

Will a PDf of my receipt work or do you want the actual hard copy for a write off?

Unfortunately it takes 8 weeks for pers plates so I won't have them for Nats.
