i introduce myself first
i am from holland and my name is Jim
i bougth a 93 typhoon a couple of weeks ago in perfect working order.
unfortunately yesterday a strange problem came up.
i wanted to use my turn signals and suddenly the engine was revving up a couple of 100 rpm and the turnsignals stopped working.
at home i found a blown fuse , fixed that and the turn signals are working again with a fault in it.
when i go left nothing is wrong , when i go right both front lights are flashing and the right rear.
could it be that the flasher made a short blowing the fuse and now have a fault in it?
i must mention that is tried a led bulb in the left rear , but this was flashing way to fast and i put the normal bulb in again , could this be part of the problem.
i drove 50 to 60 miles after trying the led bulb and everything was working fine.
after driving it i have some additional info.
the interior lights are going on when i press the brake pedal , but the brake lights are burning long before that , so when the brake lights are burning i have to push the pedal further to get the interior lights on.
are there 2 switches on the brake pedal?
and when this happens and i use the turning lights the interior lights starts to flash with the turning lights.
probably a ground problem?
does anybody recognice this?
okay , i fixed the second problem , i still have the first.
i found out the previous owner had an alarm installed and the installer had a bunch of wires tiewrapped to the brake pedal?????
so now i am thinking , is the first problem in the alarm or maybe in a damaged flasher?
