Food.... catered? Opinions.

Want to get everyones thoughts on the possibility of catering food for the BBQ/Lunch. We are trying to keep registration costs as low as possible, so we are trying to come up with the best way to feed everyones face. Depending on how many people, catering food might be the best choice depending on cost and what kinda deals I can find local.

I'd like to get everyones opinion on what they would like... Sonnys, Kers Winghouse, Hooters, etc. Start throwing out names of places that you know will cater.... and if you have hookups to anywhere, speak up!

I'll eat anything, but BBQ catering always seems to accomodate everyone equally well, has a good selection of sides, and is easy to eat/cleanup. May wind up being cheaper too (always is around here).

I say Hooters as long as we have at least 5 girls there. hahahaha


On a serious note I will eat just about anything (no pun intended) and think that BBQ or something in the nature would be a good choice becasue you can cook in mass and the clean up would not be bad like hood said. Or maybe a place that can do a low country browl.

Well, I think this also has to do with the amount of people that show up. If we get 50 people that say they are coming, and only 10 actually sign up and pay to meet. Then we could probably spend less paying for our own food. But if all 50 people pitch in money then it will turn out better..
I'm with the rest, but there is no just abouts. I will eat anything.

Looks like they do bulk orders as well along with party packs. Knowing us, we'd need to get the Party Pack #3 or #4.....and yikes #4 is expensive.

Let me talk to Brian about his hookups... he knows quite a few people in the food industry.

Jordan and I vote Conway's BBQ if it has to be catered.

I can do the cooking/grilling as well... I've handled a party of 30 before. My grill can ride in the Sy :)

I did some asking around locally and almost all of them came in around $9-10 a plate. So, unless Brian can get us a special quote, $10 or so seems reasonable for what we're asking.

So what was the final idea on the food option? Just bring your own stuff?

Or all pitch in and get some food and someone that would enjoy cooking and not mind maning the grill?

Right now its going to be catered from a local place. Christian's pick of Conways looks good so far, just need to call and get pricing. Id like to have the caterer roll in, set up, cook the food and have it out for us to gorge then clean up and haul it all away.

As mentioned, on average its between $9-12 per person on catered events, so that cost will more than likely be worked into registration. You register, you get a meal ticket basically. Registered guests also get a meal ticket too.

Christian, you talk to Brian yet? If not, I can hit him up as well.....
