I finished removing the frame cross bar and thought I would pass along what worked for me.
(4) lower rivits - 4.5" electric grinder w/ grinding wheel: grind the head smooth to the frame to remove head
(4) upper rivets - 1/4" shank straight air die grinder w/ 3" cutting wheel: feather the top of the rivit heads off from each wheel well.
Removing (4) bottom rivits - tap out from bottom
Removing (4) top rivits - I used a C clamp to compress the cross brace and a pry bar between the frame and cross brace.
Brace Removal - once I had the brace loose I C clamped the DS tight to the lower frame and used my saws all to cut the lower portion of the brace. After the lower section was removed clamp the upper section to the bottom of the frame and cut it.
Was much easier and faster than I thought going in.
