Fuel cut out

Took truck out today and notice its picking up better, Just cuts out. I put a post up a week or 2 ago in regards to my boost gauge (stock) pinning its self from green to red with minimal effort. like its going hay-wire. So today Truck is picking up more than usual. building boost on my autometer gauge. it just ends up cutting out. Not sure what is going on. I dont have my manuals with me or any book to find the ECM layouts and modes it can go into. Do they have a fuel cut out or a condition which it would just cut out?

Re: Fuel cut out

Chip has been reflashed by hood. I noticed around 60 it cut out and seemed like all systems failed.

Re: Fuel cut out

Was this a 3bar burn? If so, it could be a faulty MAP. If so, I'll replace the MAP if it also came from me.

Just LMK.

FYI, the fuel cut on my chips (unless otherwise specified) is 5200 rpm and the boost cut for 3 bar chips (unless otherwise specified) is 21 psi (control is set for 18 depending on rod length). What I'm getting at with the above question is that the MAP could be reporting a false level to the ECM and enacting the boost cut at a much lower actual boost.

This was a 3 bar burn. I forget where I sourced my 3 bar map- I do not believe it came from you.

would this explain the bouncing boost on the OEM gauge? It acts funny from time to time.

Re: Fuel cut out

It sure could. The gauge gets it's reading from the MAP sensor, so if it's faulty, it will affect the gauge.

Re: Fuel cut out

I had similar problems turned out to be bad hose from Boost solenoid to Wastegate I was overboosting.
Computer cuts off fuel to protect your engine from going BOOM. I would check the lines.

Re: Fuel cut out

I did also notice that the oil gauge at times is over 80lb. I did install a Hi-volume oil pump inside the engine. I read something some where about PTE turbos and not seeing more than 80psi. I am bringing this to attention because I am not sure If my gauges are failing or its a internal computer issue, failing.

We already know the stock boost gauge is going wacky. We through out the idea of a faulty MAP. I have a autometer boost gauge and it builds boost slow. Now and than there are power surges. like there is more to the acclerator than usual. Other times it just hesitates and stumbles. I just put some fuel in it and its running horrible. I thought being its starting to cool off during night time it would run better. Not the case. I have noticed the gauges acting up

Re: Fuel cut out

Quick video of the typical movement I see when I am trying to speed up. Has me curious on this whole thing. Im not sure if everyone sees this(in own truck/suv). Or has ever encountered.
Hope the video works

FYI - The oil pressure gauge is connected directly to the oil pressure sender \ switch. It doesn't connect to the computer.

That being said - have you checked your grounds?
