Fuel level gauge pegs on start-up

I've noticed lately that when I start my ty, the fuel level gauge goes to 100% full. Then after driving 5-10 minutes, it drops to the correct level. Any thoughts before I drop the tank to change the sending unit.

Dave,

Check your Ground wire for the fuel pump going the the rear bumper. I would make sure it has a good ground which should take care of your problem.
