Fuel line

I have been doing some looking I have never use AN and braided line before looking at some pros and cons. will be running a cell in the bed with an external pump and e85 would it be better to run braided all the way to the rail? Or run braided under the bed and switch to steel along the frame and up to the rail? Was planning on -10 feed and -8 return

Also stainless steel or braided nylon.?

Just some general info needed

Thanks, Jordan

Re: Fuel line

It might be less expensive to run stainless hard line along the rails and change over closer to
each end. I would suggest using PTFE (teflon) lined hose. I would prolly just go braided the entire length. More connections add to the chance of leaks.Good luck!!:2cents:

Re: Fuel line

That's what I was thinking as far as the stainless to hard line. Was also wondering of the SS vs nylon braided just curious if anyone had any experience with the braided nylon

Re: Fuel line

A Local shop by me Sells a Complete Fuel system kit for these Trucks since they have a Shop Typhoon. Billet Rails, Regulator, Fuel lines, Filter, Fittings. They say they use Pushlock Coated Fuel lines and haven't had any issues running straight E85 for 3 years now. They say its a thick Hose so the smell of Gas doesn't escape. The Fuel line is Meant for Methanol so should last. He recommends -8 Feed and -6 Return. Another Forum member just bought the kit so we'll see how it is. I plan on buying it also since it's a Complete kit without guessing.

Curious what others think about this, since I mentioned using PTFE line, but their kit uses the Pushlock Coated.

Re: Fuel line

He said with a good pump, and a Hotwire. It would be good for 1000 crank hp. It's way more then I need but will never have to worry again about fuel system besides the injectors

I used PTFE lines and fittings from here http://www.anfittingsdirect.com/ over a year now on the ty with no issue.
They are very cheap but braided lines are a pain to work with. I am interested in pushlock for the sy.

Do you have more details on this kit ?

thanks

Re: Fuel line

The kit will take another week or so to be finished as its a built when payed for item. When it arrives I'll post pictures but from what I was told, it's 100% take off old lines, these connect straight to sending unit, and rest bolt up on Intake, more then I want to spend but for the hassle and what hp is rated for this setup it isn't to bad
