Head gaskets

I'm doing a forged bottom, vortec build,a2a,headers, 67mm turbo ECT. I have the stock reinz head gaskets and ARP head bolts already. Would it be worth it to go with the cometic gaskets? I've seen good and bad about cometics......Dont see much bad about the stock reinz gaskets......My motor was rattled so bad by the last owner that it broke 3 pistons and bent the crank, yet gaskets were still fine. I rebuilt it all and ran 20+ psi on a new set of stock reinz gaskets and they looked perfect when I pulled it apart to do this build......Thoughts? Thanks guys

Re: Head gaskets

my opinion on a street/strip build running 20psi and less, go for the composite gaskets.

MLS are reusable, but they require a perfect surface, and strong even clamping from the head studs. :2cents:

Re: Head gaskets

The machine shop is doing the surface prep on the block just incase. But if I decide to go above 20 I don't want to worry. Are the comp gaskets strong enough to hold that boost?

Re: Head gaskets

Get the felpro gaskets I've posted several times. I'm pushing 23psi on them right now and zero issues. $25 a piece or $200?

Re: Head gaskets

That's the only reason I'm up in the air on it....I feel like that leaves so much inefficient space
