possibly a bad ground, or (seriously) look for an odd blown fuse. somehow by pluging into my cigarette lighter, i blew the dimmer fuse. on my old S10 blazer, this was on the radio circut. never thought to look for the dimmer fuse, i had the whole dash out of the truck looking for a short. when the doors were closed, the dome light was on, when the doors opened, the foot lights went on, and the dome out. if you turned on the headlights, the dome light went out, turned on the foglights, dome went on and foot lights kinda blinked... seriously odd shit... worst case scenerio, the buzzer is behind the pannel right next to the brake release. yank it out

Thanks for the reply. My son is my mechanic and he has checked most of the grounds with other issues and discovered a bad wire at the fuse box as the source of most of the wild goose chases we had been on. Neither of us have much experience in tracking down electrical problems. It continues to be a 'learning' experience for sure.
