Help looking for L35 heads.....

I am looking for some l35 heads. I called two junk yards today and both guys told me there is no such thing as l35 heads for a 4.3. Is there some thing I am missing? I am getting my motor build in Jan. and I want to use the l35 heads instead of my factory heads to port and polish. My question is should I be asking for l35 heads for a 4.3 or shoud I be asking for something else?

L-35 is the correct name. Actually the whole motor is considered a L-35. Our stock motor is a LB4. I know of a nice site that has all the casting numbers and year differences for ya. http://www.syty.huryde.com/html/Tech/heads/headsgeneral.htm
This should set ya in the right direction. You also can tell the difference by the type of upper intake manifold, it will be a silver grey with Vortec in orange writing on top. The valve covers will also be a black plastic cover and say Vortec also on them in all black. HTH

it would prolly help to ask for heads from a specific year 4.3 motor, or better yet a specific year and vehicle.

I thought the later '93 Typhoon heads had the L-35 heads ?

I saw a post earlier that gave an identifying mark, and my Ty
heads seemed to have that mark ? So I assumed that I had
the L-35 heads - or Not ?

The later "HO" 4.3L S-10s would work for that. I know they had them in 93, not sure about earlier. But it's the "W" VIN code, compared to the "Z" code for LB4.
