Re: HI! im deake and i am buying a sy

Thanks tydude lol
Couldent think of anything better haha

And ya my vdub is a monster...fortunately I did all the standard fixes before I threw a tonic power at it so it's fairly reliable!!

But the sy is my garage queen now lol ( once it comes home)
It's pritty beat up at 130,000 but running and at one poi t was a 10.0 sy...
So I'm deciding if I restore and rebuild or put the big turbo back on till it dies then rebuild...
Thoughts?

Thanks in the clouds
Been wanting one since I was 11
Ziembic :
I'm not sure yet just started payments...far as I know it's back to stock except the injectors are oversized and were left in.
The big turbo for it I haven't seen yet...but the guy selling can't remember the name , says there's a demon stamped on it.
There's a 3,000 stall converter
Boost controll
Reduction pullys
Stage 3 ecm
And a larger air to water I.c.
Waiting to be put on...
From what I gather it has a custom front drive line cause it kept breaking ( on the truck now)
And the updated ( rebuilt) 700r4 ( the stall converter is not on)

Guy didn't plan to dd it but then had no choice so put factory parts back on ..
Said with upgrades it got about 4-5 mpg lol

Welcome to one of the most painful things you will ever own.

I suspect the 10.0 claim though.

Hope it meets your expectations and welcome to the jungle.

Re: HI! im deake and i am buying a sy

Iv waited my life for it, and it did amazing against an srt10
Not 10- just 10 high , I may have miss discribed the 10.0 thing lol
It's already met my expectations just driving it :)
And about the pain..... I own a jetta with 25psi lol I know pain!! ( though iv gotten through the worst of it)

Not to mention my first two cars in high school were a 91 Sonoma and a 96 s10... So...sorta kinda farmiliar with the 4300

Non the less I'm sooooo stoked to among the few who own or have had the pleasure of staging a sy!!!

Only a handful of sy's have gone 10's in the past 15 years I have been involved, not impossible but very uncommon for us to not know about which one it was. Also having helped get trucks in the 10's, it is not as easy as it sounds either especially going back 5-10 years ago and it was even harder and more rare.

Doesn't really change if you can enjoy it or not though, I would just get more facts before i claimed anything of that nature.

I'm so excited to be a part of the community :D

Ok..he's standing here with me... Maybe I wanted to hear 10.0

He's laughing at me as we speak.
His number was 12 flat damn near ...though he says at sea level he easily could have turned up a bit and ran high 10's .

My bad guys ( what a way to make an impression huh?)

No problem.

I would still bet him the megamillions jackpot tonight if he ran a 12, just turning it up would not go low 10's.

I use the term " turn up " loosely...

I'm not new to forced induction at all... 8,000$ later my jetta runs high 13's vs stock 15.5
I know it Dosent just happen but...I don't think he's fibing..
Iv seen one here run 11.s with my own two peepers!
He claims to have the slips from bandamire , let try to get a pic of one.

Either way... What are your guys trucks running at lower alt?

Re: HI! im deake and i am buying a sy

Stock sy's run mid to high 13's, big turbo, tune in 12's. Getting into 11's usually takes internal engine mods, better heads, cam, turbo, GOOD tune, and some suspension work.

10's, is normally done after an owner has gone through 2-3 motors first trying to go faster.

I have been involved in many trucks, from one that recently made a high 10 pass, to a stock turbo truck that went 11.9 (I don't expect anyone to beat that time).

It takes a lot of patience, the right combination of parts, and skill to do anything beyond a high 12. Throw in a few savings accounts also.
