I'm New to the Sy/Ty world and i want to know if anyone on this board is running a holset turbo. I did a quick search and i found that most people get talked out for using them. All this talk about how there made for diesel truck and that you can't spool them. i want to put that myth to rest. the turbo is design for use with diesel but you can use them on gas vehicles and have great luck with them. the spool very fast because there are designed for use the diesel which burn at a lower temp and slower moving air. Gas burn at a high temp and moves much faster so they spool quite fast. i know this a very poor description on that subject. Is there any other reason that i don't know about you cant run a holset on a 4.3L? I going to try to out on the Typhoon if i ever get it back on the road. In the DSM world AKA: eclipse/talon/laser there are in very large demand because of the spool time and the power out put. the hx-35 has the spool up time close to a 16G turbo on a 2.0L car (ruffly 3000rpms). just imagine the potential on the 4.3L. here is a link to a site with all the info you would like to know about the holset turbos and performance on gas motors.
