Hot weather problems?

My Typhoon runs weird when the weather is hot, 85 to 90 degrees. When i turn my truck off for a couple minutes and i try to turn it back on, the engine cranks alot but wont turn over. Sometimes i get lucky and it does turn on. Anyone have strange hot weather problems?

Your language is somewhat confusing. Do you mean to say : when hot, the engine will crank, but will not start? Or, the engine will not crank?

If the latter, search on purple wire and solenoid.

If the former, some diagnosis is needed. Could be ignition module in distributor (check for spark). Could be bad fuel pump (check fuel pressure). Could be leaky injector flooding engine (does it start sooner with gas pedal to the floor, and belch black smoke?).

Hot weather problems!

Hot weather problems!

In hot weather it will crank , but it wont start. Pressing the gas pedal all the way down doesn't help. Usually 15 to 20 minutes later it will start with no problem.

My ass. Look at it.

Werd. Sounds like an Ignition module to me, Ive had them do this to me on both my s-trucks and my typhoon.

Most likely the ignition module, then. Could be a bad coil, but much less likely.

Holding the gas pedal to the floor invokes ECM "Clear Flood" mode, and is a viable thing to do in troubleshooting a 'no start' situation. It is not someting to do in ordinary circumstances, and I did not get the impression that Crs was doing so.

From what I had read - I wouldn't think he was in a situation where it was flooded.

Follow up question....

Let's say that you are flooded and you hold the pedal down - does it look for 100% TPS? If your TPS is bad - say it only sees 90% when floored - would it still go into flood recovery mode?
