Now what. I guess the bolt on stock replacement turbo and a stock replacement DP dont like each other. NOW what do I do?? Even bolted up it does not fit in the truck. Somehow the holes dont line up and the direction the DP is in is wrong. :shoot: :shoot:

This pic the DP is all the way till it hits the air box and the holes still dont line up

This pic is where I think the DP should be but the holes are way off.

Re: I am screwed!

I dont think the rpm turbo has the same wastegate puck you take out in the stocker so its diffrent, maybe go with a 20g?

Re: I am screwed!

Take your stock turbo and see if the downpipe will bolt up to it. Make sure the downpipe is right. If it bolts up to the stock turbo, then the bolt holes are off on the adaptor on the upgraded turbo. The stock downpipe doesn't have the tapered provision that the JS pipe has. That little "Y" on the bottom is what I'm talking about. Jeff added that so you can do so extra work on the stock turbo for added boost control. The RPM turbo is made for a stock downpipe that doesn't have this provision. It looks like you will need a customer adaptor plate(the one that's on the turbo), to mate the two together. Should be a simple adaptor to make. Renz may be able to hook you up. Get a piece of aluminum or plexiglass the same thickness as that adaptor plate then line everything up, downpipe held in place clearing everything and turbo bolted to the manifold. Then mark and drill and tap the plexiglass. Bolt in the plexiglass and see if it works. If it works, send the plexiglass piece to a guy like Renz and see if he can CAD it and have it cut out of steel. You need to do the plexi so it covers up the spot Jeff added. Something doesn't look right with the adaptor on the turbo but you can get the two to behave.

Re: I am screwed!

new turbo is not an option. 20g will be a downgrade.

There you go. Downpipe is fine and turbo is fine. See how the opening of the stock downpipe looks? Jeff's downpipe will bolt right to the back of a stock turbo. There is an adaptor to go to a turbo on the next pic.

It belongs to this guy here I think:

Re: I am screwed!

You have a very odd combination my dp was never designed or tested to fit.

George pretty much hit the nail on head on options.

Re: I am screwed!

ok. but if the turbo was made for stock DP. DP was made for stock turbo they should work?!?!?!

I understand the extra peice for the wastegate thats not needed for my setup. But its the holes that dont work. If I linew up the holes it hits the air box. the dp angle is way off.
I no longer have the stock peices. To wait another 2 weeks is not an option. obviously Jeff made 20 of these and they worked. Must be something with the turbo.

Re: I am screwed!

the holes on the pic george posted of the stock dp look to be in the 12,3,9 positions. not the case with the new turbo.

because this turbo and the stocker might not have the downpipe flange the same distance from the firewall. the stock downpipe can slide in and out of the cat about 3-4". This might be what you're running into, since the JSM pipe can't twist w/o hitting the blower cover.

Ahh..Thay makes sense Mike. I see that.
So anyone have a pic of the JS DP as it drops past the air box and how it bolts to the turbo. I will see if I can redrill and tap this bracket to make it work somehow.

No. Look at the pictures. A stock downpipe will bolt to the back of the RPM turbo.

Re: I am screwed!

I had my stock dp bolted to the stage 1 turbo. Worked great. I guess I will have to figure something out. I cant wait forever to fix this. I guess if I cant find a fix in a week the truck will be up for sale and I will buy a roush again. :(

Re: I am screwed!

well you could try shaving the flanges down a little bit..that'd move the js dp away from the blower and maybe make it able to spin enough to bolt it up. I'd figure out where the dp needs to be in relation to the blower (mate it up to the cat w/ the turbo either out of the truck...or at least remove that adapter flange) and then you can see where things need to be and go from there.

Re: I am screwed!

not just its hitting the box but the hole where the extended part is for the stock wastegate. pitch is 10mmx 1.5??

Re: I am screwed!

would also like to add I am not placing the blame anywhere. Both the RPM and JS pieces are top quality and made to work but just not with each other. At least now we know anyone who has the JS DP, It wont work with the RPM stage turbos. Sorry for the rant. My Italian side got the best of me last night.
