IAT question

just a 6

R.I.P MyClone
I'm wondering if anybody have any DM files over your truck cruising down the highway or sitting on idle when the engine is at operating temerature. I'm not looking for an IAT when truck is cold or after a cooldown at the track. The reason i'm asking is i want to know if my IAT is normal?

My truck was at operating temperature (160 t-stat), outside temp 80-85*, was running for about 20 minutes on idle and i checked my IAT with my DM. IAT was about 110*, i thougyht it was high so i checked the outside temp of my upper intake plenum with a infrared thermometer, showed 111*. After crusing on the highway for about 20 minutes @ 75mph checked again, 100*, did a WOT to 90mph and temp went to 105* and shortly after letting off the throttle temp went to 108*, i realize that temp will increase with boost.

I really would like to hear what temp others have in simular conditions, i can also tell you that i have a big FMIC and upper IC pipe runs straight over the turbo, but i have a heatshield covering the turbine housing, downpipe is header wrapped and upper IC pipe is wrapped with foil insulation. Yeah, i also have Kenne-bell coldair intake with extra air taken from inside the wheel well, not only from inside the fender.

Thanks guys,

Is my 100+* IAT normal for 80-85* outside temp weather

Looks pretty normal to me. When it's 100F out & my IC water temp is about 105-110F I see IAT's in the mid 120's whle cruising around town. IATs drop a hair closer to ambient when going 55+mph for extended periods.

Looks pretty normal to me too. Mine were 160+ before disabling EGR, even with the Jabsco hotwired...
