Ideas for leather seat conversions for a Syclone

guys, i saw micheal hoods syclone with the leather seats and the things look so comfortable! whats everyones opinion? whats the best place to find some leather repalcements? i have heard of junkyarddog.com before, but have not tried them.

i am curious as to whether leather seats out of a Jimmy would bolt right into out trucks :roll: ? are the jimmy seats the same as the syclone/typhoon seats besides the embriodery :roll: ? if applicable then, what years of jimmy would apply to our trucks :roll: ? thanks!

um well the junk yard closed down the yard to the public, and we have special rights to go back there(know a guy) and i was looking for a door panel out of a jimmy for my ty, and this truck was just put back there, so i noticed the seats were the 93 style seats, and looked almost perfect, i took them out, with the full wiring harness for the power and bought them

Yea you can go to any junk yard and usually find some nice leather seats layin around, they may look a little dirty, but clean them up and their damn good looking. A friend of mine bought two leather seats for about $60, he then spent $10 on some leather cleaner, cleaned them up...BRAND NEW LOOK :)

Oh, and then when you take out your Syclone seats, you can sell them on Ebay for some BANK

I have a set of Syclone seats that are being redone in leather. Exactly like oem, down to the piping and Syclone logo. Seats will be black leather with black ultrasuede inserts so I don't slide around. It's the second set done by Tom, a Sy owner and list member. He does leather for a living. Keith has the first set. I'll post pics, production of leather cover sets is a distinct possibility.

www.leatherseats.com can probably build leather Syclone upholstery for you. I believe they are a Katzkin dealer. You'd have to install the leather yourself, or have a local upholsterey shop do it. I'd go with black leather/black suede inserts/red piping/red Syclone embroidery. I'd check with Tom first. He may be able to do them cheaper, and it'd be better to support the SyTy community. It's good to see someone else making the upgrade to leather.

If you are looking for more comfortable seats, check out my home page and click on the link for my Nissan 300Z leather seats, much more comfortable then stock Sy seats :D

I just put A Typhoon drivers seat in my Syclone yesterday, I love it It seats lower than the stock sy seat it reclines back and is wider ,bolted right in, I'll post pics later if you want~!

If this question was directed toward me, the basic price for two seats plus door inserts from www.leatherseats.com is $579.00. Suede seat inserts might cost more, but I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure the Syclone embroidery will cost more, as they will have to have it formatted for their embroidery machines. I believe that piping is free. All of this is plus shipping, which is usually about $25.00. If you have a local upholstery shop install them, it will cost more. You probably won't have much trouble doing it yourself though. Like I said earlier, I'd check with Tom first. It's best to help support the community.
