Idle air control

I pity da fool
I have been trying to fix a choppy idle in my ty. While I had the pins shorted looking at codes I noticed the iac had a very strange sound. I pulled it out and it fell apart in my hands. I am not a very patient person so I wanted this thing back together asap. None of my local parts stores had the right iac in stock. I have owned more than a few old throttle body Chevy trucks, and I remember the iac looking quite similar to the syty ones. Anyways I know quite a few old mechanics and Junkers, so I decided to go searching at 9oclock at night. I got ahold of one and low and behold it looked exactly the same, only difference is the ty iac was plastic body and the truck iac is aluminum. I wiped it off and threw it in the ty throttle body. It works perfect, no codes and it fixed my idle problem. So if anybody is in doubt of their iac and they don't want to spend 70.00 bucks on a guess, go hit up your local junkyard. The old small block throttle body Chevy trucks are a staple of every junkyard. It's nice once in a while to get a break on a part for these money sucking beasts.
