If you run drop 3" leafs, come on in.

I have a set of 3" Belltech drop leafs to put in the Sy.

Do I need to use the stock u-bolts, or do I have to use longer ones like if I was doing drop blocks? I currently have 2" drop blocks in right now, so I have the longer ones. Just need to know if I need to dig out the stockers.

Re: If you run drop 3" leafs, come on in.

if anything the belltechs are thinner than the stock leafs but since you have blocks already you will need to reuse the longer u bolts.

so basically you should be fine.

i also have 3 in leafs but also 3 in blocks and all i did was throw it all in, and cut off the excess on the bottom of the bolts hanging down

Re: If you run drop 3" leafs, come on in.

with no blocks you can use the stock U bolts.

Keep in mind the 3" drop spring from Bell Tech is 3" from a Stock S Series drop.
NOT a SyTy.
Its more like 1.5" to us.
I found out after I set mine back on the ground and pulled out the tape measure.
Put it back up on stands and added a 1" block to get the height I was after.
Which worked out for me b/c I added a 1" pinion corrected block to get my driveshaft alignment back where it needed to be.
No vibrations.

You probably won't be able to use the longer bolts as they won't be threaded deep enough. Being a midwestern daily driver my stockers were rusted pretty bad to we cut them off. If your stock bolts are still good - you'll be fine.

Syclone's are little more jacked up in the rear than a Ty, my Sy dropped ~ 2"

Not what I wanna hear. Im hesitant to put these in now without having a 1" block ready. I have 2" blocks in now and recently cranked down the front about 1/2" more. I want to get another 1" down on the rear.

Where did you pick up the 1" pinion block Jas?

with the leafs? I already have 2" blocks in...was hoping to yank them out using the 3" drop leafs.

Re: If you run drop 3" leafs, come on in.

I have the bell techs and a 1/2 inch plate to center the wheel thats as low as I can go in Michigan it rides nice I need to play with shocks to get a nices ride then again a 40 series sidewall might have something to do with the ride quality

It's always been recommended to me that whenever you've got axle U-bolts apart (for pretty much any reason) that you replace them.

I personally think that a fresh set of good bolts in a fairly critical application is cheap insurance.

Just my $.02

for those of you running Belltech springs and the stock wedge... is the wheel centered? and pinion angle correct? if not, what degree wedge needs to be added to get the correct pinion angle with Belltechs and stock wedge?

i want 3" drop leafs. how much?

Btw a spring place can de-arch your spings for you to give you the desired stance. supposedly this will not affect the longevity of the spring at all. i called Deaver Spring in calli and they said they charged $50. but if you are serious about sellin, i dont want blocks anymore:lol:

the u bolts for the 2"blocks were too long for my truck when I did this modification :2cents:

The wheel is NOT centered. I have seen some type of centering device that corrects this somewhere on this forum youd have to search around for it. I think Capt Morgan had posted about it if im not mistaken.

Do you use that setback plate with the stock wedge on the belltechs? or does that replace the stock pinion wedge?
You will still want the pinion angle. The setback plates prevents the driveshaft from pushing back into the transmission.

Don't count these out either.

Not to whore but anyone else ever tried a set of these?

When my blazer was alot more stock I had them on and they made the rear end stick really nicely, and handle loads/corners really well. I was always a little worried about them as they only put pressure on one side of the spring, especially while using one of these sets with the flex-a-form leafs.

I made get them back on it in the future once I drop the rear to where I want and get a few more things done like my notch.
