Re: intercooler pump

Have it on mine. No issues at all so far. Pretty sure Harmon ran the same one at some point. Search SVT Cobra Pump or something similar here.

Re: intercooler pump

I found a Johnson pump on amazon for $125 and the Bosch pump for $99....what is the flow of the stock pump anyways....I'm on my 2nd pump and it's a stocker....still running strong just wanted a better moving pump.

Re: intercooler pump

Im using this: http://m.harborfreight.com/12-volt-marine-utility-water-pump-94639.html They have a 300gpm one but its not on their website.

Wouldn't you think that a 300 gpm one would be overload? If it moved coolant that quick I don't think it would be as effective at helping cooling the in coming charge. I might just go with a Bosch pump that a member suggested....now I wonder where you can buy a pigtail for the connector....or maybe just hardwire it in.

Re: intercooler pump

The Johnson pump flows 6.9 gallons per minute....while the Bosch pump does 5.3 gallons per minute....is there any modding to the intercooler pump bracket on the cac for the johnson pump?

Re: intercooler pump

The stock intercooler system only holds 1/2 gallon of fluid. Higher IC pump capacity just isn't necessary. I had a Johnson pump and it seemed to pump more liquid from the lower CCHE than the fluid was draining from the upper. (The pump seemed to be sucking air). If the lower CCHE that is not full of liquid, the cool effiecieny isn't not going to be maximized.

Re: intercooler pump

The Johnson pump fits the stock bracket. That said, just get a Bosch pump. GM uses them on the ZL1, CTS-v, ZR1, Z06 (each car pump is slightly different though) and Ford used them on the SVT stuff and newer supercharged Mustangs.I don't know what the Hellcats use, but i'd make a bet it's a Bosch as well. Lingenfelter has a very good writeup on the pumps and their flows.

If you watch ebay you can pick up a used one off of a newer CTS-V for about $70. I run two on my Regal GS and a Johnson on my Ty. I'm replacing the Johnson with a Bosch.

If you mean the Bosch pump I referred to, it uses the same connector as a fuel injector. You can get them with heavier gauge pins/wires too. Should be all over the junk yards, on all sorts of bits and pieces - solenoids etc.

Re: intercooler pump

The Johnson fits the factory bracket perfectly, is a solid quality pump, all the hoses line up, it's quiet and works fantastic.
I couldn't be happier.

I sent you a link to where I bought mine in a PM.

Re: intercooler pump

What is the flow of a stock pump out of curiosity? Anybody know?

I want to say its only 2gpm. I remember reading that awhile back when I was looking for pump options.

There is also the Rule pump thats sold on frozenboost.com. But this pump and the Harbor Freight pumps are not a direct drop in.
