Intercooler question

my ic cap is damn loose. I'm pretty sure the threads for the ic are toast b/c the cap has a lot of up and down wobble to it when in the "locked in" position. I'm thinking that when I run some boost through it it's going to leak out the cap (when I checked the coolent level it was low). I'll be going to A2A towards the end of summer so I don't really want to buy a new upper ic. Do the ic caps not fit too well, or do I have a new problem on my hands?

My ass. Look at it.
the smell of burning antifreeze on downpipe will linger for all eternity :D

You may just need to bend the tabs on the IC, they get bent the wrong way and the cap cant make a good seal.

well, I bent the flanges and that keeps the cap on a lot better now, but I hope to god I don't have to bend them ever again...they're feelin a might bit brittle :D

Glad that the bending of the tabs worked. But not to worry about running high boost through it, it wont make any differance in the water level. BTW, those caps are cheap. I you can just get one from your local parts store. You can find one from a foriegn car that will work.

I got a new cap from AutoZone for a couple bucks. I may have had a non-stock replacement on it already, but the AZ one matched the one that was on there exactly.
