Internal vs External Wastegates ---

pppssssshhhhhtttttttttttt
Seems like the only 3" dp for the Syclones seem to come with EXTERNAL wastegates, but when I look for a 3" dp for the TTA most come INTERNAL wastegates.

Whats the advantages/disadvantages of either setup?

I was wanting to try to keep the two builds similar so I can be comfortable with both vehicles.

Thanks ---

The short answer is an internal wastegate is cheaper, and an external wastegate can be bigger. You use an internal wastegate until your combination becomes such that an external wastegate becomes necessary to control boost.

Forget about making them similar IMO. They're two different vehicles with different strengths \ weaknesses \ requirements.

The PTE and Turbotime DP were internal wade gates but they are no longer in poduction.

Internal is much easier to install since its apart of the turbo. You can always have the opening for the wastegate made bigger and install a bigger flapper if needed. My GT3788R is internal wastegate and I'm glad it is.
