Leaky Throttle Body Plate

In performing the bike tube vacuum leak test I found a leak in the throttle body. Air is coming out of the plate located on the top of the throttle body (it has 6 or 8 tork screws in it).

What is this plate and is it ok to remove it? anybody know the best way to fix it?

Get a new gasket for it and replace it. Make sure you don't over tighten the 6 screws though...I snapped a head off one of mine and had to get a machine shop to take it out.

I couldn't find a new gasket for mine so I used Black RTV and its held up fine.

when i bought my 50horsepower air foil it came w/ a cork gasket for the plate...so they must exist somewhere. Too bad there isn't a site w/ part numbers for this kinda thing :lol:

its not GM#17113115 ??

Gasket set: Throttle Body GM #17113115 from the Authority. It comes with upper, lower and the IAC gaskets on the TB. I used it last year.
