Lo-Tek and Autometer pillar pod differences

Hey all,

Since the topic came up recently on the differences between the two manufacturers (Lo-Tek and Autometer) three gauge pillar pods, I though I would post up a comparison pic of the two and list what I see as the pros and cons for both..

Here's a pic of the two, the Autometer is on the top and the Lo-Tek is on the bottom...



Autometer-
Pros: Better gauge placement and spacing, looks to be better made..
Cons: Comes in black and needs to be sprayed the correct grey color, fits over stock pillar trim panel so some creative attaching is necessary..

Lo-Tek-
Pros: Comes already in the correct grey color, replaces stock pillar trim panel (easier to install).
Cons: Top gauge opening sits pretty high, uses three screws to hold onto pillar which all need holes drilled into the sheet metal.

There you have it... I'm gonna most likely use the Autometer one.. I have a sweet idea on how I'm gonna attach the stock pillar trim panel to the pillar pod... I just need to find the correct color paint to paint it with..

I used one similar to the Autometer years ago for my 94-up S10. I just used panel bonding adhesive (used for gluing body panels together) to glue the two together. It's been fine for 15+ years now. Snaps into the truck using the stock panel clips. Used the same method on my Regal, no problems either.
