Location for Shurflow

Hey Guys,

That Shurflow IC pump is a big sucker, so where did y'all put it ? I'm thinkin' maybe I finally may have a use for that ATR Batt Relo platform. I got the ATR kit and don't want the Batt where they want to put it. I'm gonna put one of those skinny Yellow Top batts (model 51) down in the Pass well, below the stock batt location instead.

So, I've got that platform in there and it's a good place 4 the pump. It's nice and low, so it gets primed good and there's good support 4 the pump. It appears to be too big to go on the back of the front bumper.

Yeah, the shurflo is gargantuan! I ran into the same problem when I upgraded. I found that the bes position (4 Me) was to take four 2.5" hose clamps, attach two together,(to make them longer) and "strap" the shurflo to the drivers side bumper rod/bracket. It is actually quite stable there! It is also really easy to get to right there. I plan on building a sheet aluminum shield to protect the pump from road debri. I have a aux. heat exchanger and had to route my lines differently this way but it definitly makes sense when you look at how I positioned it.

Hope this helps!

Thanx 4 the input, RJ. I just went out and looked at the car and I guess U mean the diagonal rod from the outside of the bumper to the frame ? So U strapped the Shurflow to that ? Seems reasonable. Did U strap it to the round motor body ? I just measured it and it is ~ 3" around, so I guess the 2½" clamps fit around there ?

U clamped it on the drivers side. The stubs on the Upper IC face the Pass side. So, U had to turn the hoses 180 Deg to hook to the Upper IC ? I was kinda thinking of the Pass side.

Exactly! You will need to remove as much of the rubber base on the pump as you can, and replace it with sheet rubber, like the kind used on rubber RV roofs. Wrap and secure the pump on the cylinder. This will keep the vibration down as well as make for a more secure fit. Use h-clamps big
enough

I used the drivers side position because it was easier to run the lines there (w/aux. CCHE) and the pump wiring harness is right there anyways. You might have more luck on the pass. side instead with only the stock CCE, but if you decide to ever upgrade w/ an aux. CCHE, I recommend the driv. side.

Uh, I tried the techweasel instructions first and there was absolutely NO way that the shurflo pump I used would ever fit there, plus it really is a PITA in the stock location anyway IMO. I remember that I had everthing ready to go back in there and had to completly change everything again, it got pretty ugly  . It would be a real bummer if you got all the lines on and reinstalled the CCHE/pump and the lines leaked, you would have to dissasemble everything again just to fix it-there is NO room under there, or anywhere else on these trucks.

Hmmmm, I used the same pump (2088). I tried to get it to fit up there for hours, never even came close. I guess all of our trucks are different and some will fit there and others wont,...or maybe I am retarded :) .
