Look what I found

NHSTE - I'm the only one!
So, today, first day of school, pretty miserable. And then a nasty headache, and staying at school till 5:30 for rowing.
I got home, to find this in my garage, very unexpectedly, but welcome.

Complete with smoothed seams and new gloss black firewall paint, new doors, and the new color, 2005 GM called Spiral Grey Effect, painted on the inside of the doors and the tailgate.
Wish I could find something like this every day :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

In a way... I've been working on the truck since 8/03, but I wasn't expecting it back for at least another 2 weeks ... so it was a nice surprise

And I have all of the cladding except the front bumper... going f-glass for that

Re: Look what I found

all the glass has been removed and reinstalled (the doors were replaced and so were the quarters, I don't think there was any way around it  )... the insides of the frames have all been painted already... so, once I get the motor / trans / steering parts / exhaust / brake& fuels lines installed, it goes back for final paint and reassembly

Re: Look what I found

yea, was sort of expecting a grey primer.... whatever :D . The new color is so close to black that it only looks grey in strong light when you can see the metallic... in the rain or low light it might as well be black

Re: Look what I found

Looks like a nice start. What is on the frame POR15, powder coating??How much expected for the body work total? What brakes are U running up front?

Re: Look what I found

I'm running LS1 F-body all the way around, using the CBR conversion up front and custom ebrake brackets in the rear with f-body cables. Speaking of CBR, anyone heard from TT350 since the hurricane hit?

Re: Look what I found

-Frame is double layer powdercoated, bodywork total is going to run a little over 8k

-Windows came out for the body work and were reinstalled before it came back to me, so as to not be lost mostly, but as far as I am aware, you cannot tell in pics, but the paint on the insides of the frames has already been done. Engine bay is staying gloss black, the rest of the truck (including door jambs, etc), is being redone in Spiral Grey Effect (2005 GM)

-I'm running factory block/crank, .020 over, 50# injectors, Vortec heads w/ 1.6 roller rockers and a Crane 2020, SRP's, Eagle H-beams, 4 bolt mains, GT 35-R turbo, with a2a. Trans is undecided, probably a beefed up 700R4. Although, I may just run the old rebuilt (to Jimmy specs) trans until it dies.....
