I have been working on this car since April of 15. Bravada front clip. L-33 engine. 4L80 trans. 32 spline input shaft from Aaron and I don't know if I thanked him BUT Thanks Aaron. Worked just fine. K&J precision adaptor plate. And a coilover front suspension. All these parts were from members here. Thanks.

Rest of car. Was going to use the frame from the Bravada and stretch it around 8" and run coil overs and a
ford 9" out back but used the donor cars frame from clip back. turned out to be easier?

I figured I could do this in about 3 months. Ha. Everything I touched needed to be welded/drilled/bored/burnt/flattened or bent. And I mean everything. Any modification I did required at least 2 to the surrounding areas which included whatever touched them.

But I'm happy with the way it turned out. Just started it Sat for the first time. Right now i'm having trouble with the converter not unlocking. Chasing wires now.

So here's what I have.

1965 Oldsmobile 442. Original owner. Purchased Feb. 1965. Just turned 50K miles. All aluminum L-33 5.3 engine. Stock engine. Stock exhaust. 4L80 with Bravada TC. 9" Ford rear. Moved engine back around 14". It was either on top of front axle which made it way to high or behind it which moved the engine back which made me cut the floor. What fun.

I did not want to cut up my car at first. But it had to be low like it should be, it's not a truck. So since I've owned this car for 50 years we have become close. I sat in the garage and we talked it over and decided to give the 442 a face lift.

I'm not to sure of what to do about pics but I will give it a go. Dan.

You gotta slap a big ass turbo on it. If you are gonna build something that badass, you might as well go full badass.

Thanks guys I appreciate it.

Gotta walk before I run tho. But I did leave a big spot in the front for something. As tight as it is in the car it will prob be a procharger or just a little shot. Dan.

Well some success. Got the converter to work properly, I think. Pulled wires and pulled trans pan and looked at this and that. Put it back together and it works and I don't know what I touched to make it work but I'm not asking questions. Was pinned right tho. Dan

You don't know how jealous we are. You got like 3 FEET of room under that hood. That is nice.

That's why I never converted my TY. Sold it. Have more room in front but just about the same on the sides. Tight around the exhaust. With what I went through I really hand it to you guys who converted your SY/TS's.

Really tough to see but if you look close you can see the width of the engine cover in relation to the engine. Back two plugs have to come out inside. Not much room. DLM

Very cool. Great job on the conversion. #1631 must like Oldsmobiles. I have a '66 Cutlass convertible. An LS (or new LT1) is definitely in its future but probably no AWD. Ironically I bought the Ty instead of doing an LS in the Cutlass. A decision I wonder about every time I'm working on the Ty. ;)

Mingus, you purchased 1631 from my son then. I really liked that TY but it just couldn't do what I needed it to do. I hope you are enjoying it.

The Olds is nearly finished as we speak. Almost a year. Car runs, starts, stops, shifts and backs-up. What else could a person ask for?

A few minor things left to do. Picked up the carpet today. Get it sewn up and installed and I'll will be able to drive it. Don't need no stinking door panels yet. Have to do the driveline straps and hidden hitch and that's all the welding left. Looks like I will have to put a hood scoop on it tho. Don't want to but the alternator sits higher than I thought it would. Once the fenders were on it showed its ugly head. Might be able to get a smaller hopped up one. I hope so.

So here are some pics I took today of its almost done self. I love it. Dan
