it also depends on what you plan on keeping. a/c, p/s, etc.

You're right there.....In my case, I plan on keeping all of it.

But, for those guys out there building strip-only (or close to it) trucks, deleting the PS & AC and only running the alternator would certainly simplify life.

Could also look into an electric water pump, that wouldn't necessarily make belt routing any simpler, but would free up a some horses......

well..... ive been reading this thread everytime it pops up on the New Posts list

I have yet to post on the subject till now, I think a few people know what my future plans are for my Ty, but just for the record, I too plan on swapping in a 6.0L LQ9/LQ4 iron block engine.

Im not in any rush to build it since all the "new stuff" will be going on my spare chassis thats going to get built up as well, so my Ty should stay functional, or as functional as a Typhoon can be up until the time it ready to get the body swapped over.

Ive started to develope a small website dedicated to my build, you can click the image in my sig to get there but I dont have much on it at this time and until I actually start gathering parts there are going to be a lot of question marks on certain parts I go with.

I figure with a 2 year build, Ill have plenty of time to wait and see what new parts, turbos, gauges, wastegates, ect come out in that time so those will be the last things I purchase probably.

Like everyone else I have my own thoughts and solutions to some of the problems pertaining to the swap, perhaps someone will do it before I get to, perhaps they wont, I guess time will tell.

Perhaps we should start a new section on the forum pertaining to conversions reguarding the installations of different engines/drivetrains into SyTySGTs instead of just the section for people wanting to put SyTySGT stuff in their (insert vehicle here).

I believe there are at least 7 people doing some sort of LS style swap at this point.

Re: LS1 swaps.

It does look like it would be a whole lot easier without doing ac. my truck hasnt had ac since i bought it and i dont care to ever have it back. i made it all the way throught the 2005 hot rod power tour (HOT too!) without it. I had also tossed around the idea of losing the powersteering. It looks like if you use the c5 vette accessory bracket everything should set right in and leave the passenger side of the engine for the turbo to hang. Is this correct?
