For those of you wanting to do this swap, I'm planning to fab them up myself, offering them cheaper than you can currently buy them for. I'm a one man fabber with skill & no money to get it started. If I had money I could get started mocking things up and seeing what works or not.
I started this thread here because I was jacking Eviltwins thread before I knew it. I apologized so I posted here

"The header is going to have to be built around the steering shaft, As in all S-10 builds we have to deal with the drivers side steering shaft. I'm thinking tri "Y" long tube. I won't know until I can get the money to actually build it and see what works. It might turn out as a "mid" length header. As we all know a mid length puts the collector in a bad spot and doesn't do much for power. But, we have to deal with it because it's the only option. I want to change that. A tri "Y" gives you more flexibility in designing a long tube header because you only have 2 tubes going south, as opposed to 4 tubes. Thus creating the same effect as a long tube but with fewer primaries heading down to the collector. I think a Tri "Y" would work with bigger primaries than what's offered today. There are countless companies that make motor mounts. Some good, Some bad. I can't promise they'll all work with the headers I'm planning on building, but I can come up with a perfect engine placement that works with the headers, radiator, and under hood placement and try them out with multiple motor mounts to see what works and doesn't. I need investors. Who's with me? A $5 investment from 100 people could get this project started, AND you would have a return on your money if I can't bring a fully tested product to market. The percent of royalty would solely depend on how many investors there are. I'm a fair and honest person. Your $5 dollar investment won't be taken lightly. If anyone invests in me I will invest in them! I'll write down every name and address of people helping me reach my (our) goal and how much they invested and make a return on their investment. That's a personal promise to anyone. Right now, I have hand and power tools out the wazzu. I don't have shop equipment. I have access to a drill press, a mig welder, and an ox-asetelyne torch, and that's about it. I need a band saw, or a cut-off (chop) saw, and a scrap LSx based motor to use as a test dummy/jig/gauge. I already have the 4x4 chassis to use, and if need be I can get another to use as a full time jig. I want to develop LSx based products for the 4x4 V-8 S-10/blazer that currently are either too expensive, or don't work well. I think I can make better products than that of what are out there now! Who's with me?"

If I could get 100 people@ $5 to donate, I could get the necessary tools to make this happen. If someone wants to donate more it will be recorded. I think there's a market for the 4x4/AWD guys out there that don't have good parts available to them at a reasonable price to do LSx swaps. With a hands on approach, and a no risk garrontee of a full refund if not successful, then why wouldn't you want someone to develop new products for the 4x4/AWD guys? I'm talking headers, motor mounts, and oil pans for the 4x4/AWD platform which aren't readily available at this time for LSx based engine swaps in 4x4/AWD s-10's no matter if it's truck or SUV. I'll take into consideration engine placement in regards to the radiator, the firewall, and front diff clearance. The rest will be no no different than a 2wd swap. That's how easy I want to make this for the guy that wants to put a fuel injected LSx in a 4x4 without having to put a body lift on it to make everything work. Like another company that says to use their motor mounts, H3 oil pan and long tube headers on a 4x4 WITH a 2" body lift! What?! That doesn't work for an AWD guy that wants to slam it on the ground. I wanna make parts for both.If it works on a slammed AWD it will definitely work for a 4X4 guy. That's my goal, but I need help getting there.

Maybe in a few years. I gotta put my money in the blazer 1st. I gotta friend over on the v8 board that has about 7 s10's in all different stages of project vehicles. He's got alot of irons in the fire. I've got a lot of projects myself and I'm working on putting a garage out back of my house if the builder can come back with a number that's in my price range. I also have a 76 T/A, a 69 2 dr fastback Impala, a 79 v8 4spd monza, and another hatchback monza that I would love to give the prostreet treatment to as projects that need my attention.

From here > http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=77014

I never said anything about it being black. Looks like you have a few things that could finance your plans. Looks like you won't need those $5 after all.

Re: LSx 4X4/AWD header, oil pan, and moumts

first of all, I couldn't get $5 out of that T/A and all it's parts. 2nd that car has sentimental value to me as a project car that fell into neverland like most projects do.And it has been protected from the weather in a garage for 15 years preserving it for when I do have the money to get to it. I also have a 69 Impala rusting away every day that I can't find a sheltered place for it to sit other than the bone yard it sits in. I'm not going to use the money to help those cars out as much as it pains me to say, because I'm an honest person and will put every dollar into this project for the project's sake and not my own. I would publicly, on line, Blog every dollar accepted and donated, to this project that I couldn't deny any wrong doing. Despite other projects that are wasting away! the T/A I'm not too worried about, My Impala on the other had, I worry everytime it rains for the past 15 or more years! It's raining now! I just wish I had a roof for it! But that's not your concern. I've tried to get my buddy with the flatbed to pull my impala out of his yard countless time and he says he can do it but never does. Even though I've done plenty of work for him on the salvage title trucks he buys. He is the guy I will get a 6.0L from on a salvaged title< so I need to keep him happy. He doesn't need to keep me happy cause he gets nothing from it. Don't get me wrong. He's been a good friend to me in my darkest days when my brother died.
He helped me get the cash I needed to get a work permit to drive, He's been the guy I go to when I need help, whether it's personal, or private, so I can't piss him off when he's helped me more than I've helped him. I still feel I owe him now.

My tragic life aside, ALL money will be publicly announced and readily available for all to see!
If I accept money from you AND I don't put it up on all forums to see....call me out and I will make it right! Get a group willing to participate, exchange addy's and phone numbers, get together and talk business! I'll start by putting my number out here for anyone to call me and find out for themselves any time, day or night! 618-615-7484. That's the only phone I have. call me!

don't question my commitment to this endeavor.Maybe I do need to ask my buddy for money, and I could do this on my own. maybe I'll call it "Loan shark's customs" ! Get it......It's kinda catchy!

Your not going to get much dne for $500.00. Your going to probably building aluminum pans and need a tig welder and they are more than $500.00 unless your modifying a sheet metal milidon or something then your will need a brake, shear and they are more than $500. Headers? Well the flanges are on e-bay for $35-$50 and then you need a already made tube kit and ther's a few hundred plus the time to do it. Mounts? well there's enuff of those out there so you might be wasting your time on making another set.

You have some balls.

There are these neat buildings that hold bunches of money called "banks". At these banks you can get these things called "loans" where you are able to borrow money and pay it back within a set amount of time (with a percentage rate tacked onto it of course).

If you got the skills, then get your ass a job and raise the money yourself rather than begging for free money here. When you use the term "I think" and the cant even spell GUARANTEE correctly, that shows me that you totally can be trusted

So when your shit fails and you've spent everyone's money, how do you plan to pay them back? After all, you said:

I could get started mocking things up and seeing what works or not.

Yeah, TOTALLY no risk in that.

Winner. :screwy:

I think it is great that you would like to become a manufacturer of parts that will fit our trucks. I think your plan of taking selling shares in your business for 5 dollars a piece. This values your business at $500. With that capital you are going to buy equipment and materials. The problem with the plan, is that there are not 100 people here who need these parts. I would venture to say that less than 10 people are in need of these parts. If you are itching to get something going, I would speak to a bigger audience, like S10 forums or something similar. Not enough possible sales here, just ask RPM. If you do end up making oil pans or headers, let me know because I am in the market for both.

Re: LSx 4X4/AWD header, oil pan, and moumts

like I said I need a band saw, or a chop saw. Band saw preferable. The money will sit in an account until there enough to buy one. If there's not enough to get stared, then the money goes back to it's rightful owner.
It will be a steel sheet metal pan
I do have access to a bending brake. It's not a great one, but it'll do.
I do have a job making good money but I'm at my limits on money. I'm looking for investors to start something great, but I can see that it's not being taken seriously.
I'm not here to piss people off.
As for misspelling "GUARANTEE"....My bad, I'm not perfect. like you are.

Since you are taking this so seriously , detail out what the $500 will do for you exactly . If you think your going to be able to weld your way into our hearts , please post some pics of "your" welding skills .
Show us why we want parts you make on our trucks .

Just to be certain i am following you correctly . You want to use cheap metals , a mig welder , and very little money to create a better product ?
