lumbar pump

Has anyone had problems with the hose on the lumbar pump breaking? Mine broke on the pump end and I tried just to slide the hose back on the fitting and it is splitting almost like the hose is too small (probably just too brittle)

Re: lumbar pump

Don't have that problem, but I must have a leak somewhere with mine. Pump them up and they go flat after about 20 seconds....sucks.

Re: lumbar pump

You should be able to find a suitable replacement at any good hardware store. Removing the seats makes changing the tubing easier. IIRC, each seat needs less than 3' of tubing. I can get you some if you can't find it locally.

I have the same problem. So I tried some vacuum hose but it is to flimsy and only lasted a year. I was hoping to find out what you guys came up with. Is there something in silicon that will last?

Like to get mine working, but I got no pump or tubing and don't even know if it still works! By the way where you located at? I'm in East Oahu

Re: lumbar pump

I'll be doin mine in silicone once I get another order o silicone going. Whatever material they used gets brittle very easily.

Re: lumbar pump

Let’s talk silicone.

How big of a group do we need to get before we can realize any savings in buying the proper size of tubing in silicone?

I'm in for the tubing but need the pumps also.

Re: lumbar pump

I need one pump. Trying to figure out a way to fix it myself. Anyone have any ideas or tried and tested methods?

Re: lumbar pump

quick question, did every syclone come with the lumbar pumps? awhile back i had syclone seats put in my 85 s-15 and they had pumps, but a few years ago i bought my sy, and there arent any, just the fabric loops that hold them in place, did the previous owner remove them?

Re: lumbar pump

AFAIK, yes. the hoses disintegrate and pumps jam. previous owner probably didn't bother to replace them.

The "hoses" probably got brittle and broke, so someone probably removed them.

Re: lumbar pump

this is kind of a late reply, but I encountered the same problem. I discovered that if you heat the end of the hose with a heat gun, then inseret a needle-nose pliars to stretch and flare the tube. then I just stuffed the barbed end of the pump/valve assy. and cinched it down with a hose clamp. :2cents:

Re: lumbar pump

FYI I bought a heart pressure tester bulb and and it worked. I had to stretch the tubing to get it to fit with some heat and plyers like gkrcr882 said. I also saw silicon tubing on advance auto parts website. Not sure what size we would need though. They do have red...
